2025 - End of Year


Hi friends and fam,

Well, that’s it for another big year. It’s been a strange one for pretty much everyone I think as we navigate the teething phase of the sci-fi era. I’ve been far less motivated to post about work this year if I’m honest - just with the social platforms becoming such an uninspiring mess. But I’ve also been the busiest I’ve ever been. Between work, music, home duties and a bit of DIY, there’s really no time left over to think about marketing. Also, miraculously, my girls still want to hang out with me, so it’s good to spend lots of time with them before that door slams shut - which could be any day.

I’m grateful to be busy in these weird and uncertain times, and also to be in a line of work that’s creatively challenging and fulfilling. It’s been a year of stretching and growing with lots more video work in the mix and I’m excited about several projects there that combine all of my interests. More on that in the coming year.

There’s a gallery below with some of my favourite images from 2025. I still get a real kick out of photographing interesting people doing their thing - the process, the thinking, the in-between moments. That remains unchanged since the beginning.

On the music front, I’m still playing drums with Louis TM and Miles Calder. Check out the recent Miles single ‘Go Slow’ - produced by Sam Scott of Phoenix Foundation. I really like the song and the way Sam and Miles took it to a new place sonically back at Sam’s home studio after the initial recording session at the Surgery. I was going to write more about the year and what’s rattling around in my head, but instead I’ll leave you with a great quote from photographer/musician/guru Si Moore. He posted it once and probably never thought about it again, but I saved it and return to it regularly. It also kind of sums up my thinking on seasons and slowing down to do deep work in the face of ai and socials - which are feeling more and more like a race to the bottom for creatives. On that chirpy note, thank you to everyone I crossed paths with, photographed and worked alongside this year. See you out in the world in 2026!
